Tired eyes after working at the computer

Looking at the screen of a TV, desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone is a permanent element of our lives. We use these devices at work, at school, at home and during travel. In many homes, the TV is switched on from early morning to late evening, and in the meantime we use a computer and a smartphone – we look at several screens at the same time. This is definitely too much time, during which eyes are exposed to hard work. How to compensate for dryness and burning eyes?

Many independent studies confirm the relationship between eye deterioration and the length of time spent in front of a computer screen. This problem affects over 50 million people around the world, especially in countries with a high level of technology development, and affects people of all ages, both children and young people and the elderly. Current research predicts the intensification of sight problems, because the development of technology is aimed at increasing the number of screens through which we communicate with all kinds of devices. Already not only a computer or smartphone is equipped with a screen, but also every new car, and even a fridge and washing machine.

The most common symptoms resulting from excess time spent in front of the screen are headache, eye strain, double vision, dry eyes, and eye strain.

The normal number of blinks for a healthy person is 17 times per minute. The blink rate drops to 12-15 times per minute when using the computer. Reducing the number of blinks leads to dry eyes and results in burning eyes. If fuzzy or over-contrast images appear on the screen, your eyes must work hard to interpret the information presented. This can lead to tired eyesight, fogging or double vision and headaches.

Omega 3 soothes the symptoms of dry eyes.

Doctors from the Noida clinic in India conducted a study in which nearly 500 people with symptoms of dry eye participated. Everyone used computers for at least three hours a day during the last year. Patients were randomly divided into two groups, one of which received omega 3 supplements and the other received a placebo in the form of olive oil. The experiment lasted three months. After this period, it was found that supplementation of omega 3 fatty acids significantly reduced the symptoms of dry eye, which were measured by several standard ophthalmic tests. 70% of patients in the omega 3 supplement group have stopped reporting any symptoms of eye discomfort.

The problem of dry eyes, which is manifested, inter alia, by stinging eyes and blurred vision, can be caused by many factors. However, in most cases, it brings relief to increase the intake of omega 3 in the diet or the use of dietary supplements. Two OMEGA+++ capsules contain the amount of omega 3 that satisfies the daily requirement for this substance and effectively removes dry eye symptoms.
