What diet is harmful in diabetes?

In some people, gluten can cause inflammation of the intestines, which results in poor functioning of the endocrine system. Disturbances in the production of cortisol and leptin can lead to an increase in blood sugar levels. Specialists recommend eliminating all cereals from the diet for at least three months.

People with type 1 diabetes should not use cow’s milk and cow’s milk products. Experts believe that casein A1 derived from cow’s milk triggers a gluten-like immune reaction. Instead, it is advisable to consume dairy products from goat’s milk or sheep’s milk, because this type of dairy has the ability to balance blood sugar levels. If you use dairy products, only buy organic and natural unprocessed products.

Drinking alcohol causes a sharp increase in blood sugar levels and may cause liver toxicity. Among people who drink more than two drinks a day, there is an almost 50% increase in the incidence of diabetes. Especially avoid drinking beer and sweet alcoholic beverages that are very rich in carbohydrates.

Consuming genetically modified food (corn, soy, rape) is correlated with kidney and liver disease and can cause diabetes. It is advisable to eliminate all GMO products and all highly processed food products from the diet. A good choice are products labeled as organic or GMO-free.

Another group of harmful foods are hydrogenated oils. Industrially manufactured oils that are processed at high temperature, according to many specialists, cause many health problems, including diabetes.
