What to eat when having problems with prostate

Nutrition plays an important role in the prevention and control of prostate cancer. In some countries prostate cancer occur very often, in other countries are sporadic.

Food products beneficial to the prostate

Food rich in vitamin E. In addition to excellent anti-inflammatory properties, vitamin E prevents prostate hardening and has anti-cancer effects. It inhibits the growth of tumor cells, especially breast, colon and prostate cancer. The best natural and unprocessed sources of vitamin E are: green leafy vegetables, nuts, grains and cereal sprouts.

Soya and other legumes. Plants of this group have strong anti-cancer properties. The low incidence of cancer in Japan and China is associated with high intake of legumes. The same properties are made with soy products: tofu, soya milk, soya protein. Soya is most recommended from legumes, but peas or beans also have a positive effect on preventing prostatitis. Also alfalfa, and especially her sprouts, is very important in the prevention of prostate cancer.

Pumpkin. It is among the products recommended for prostate diseases, thanks to high carotenoid content. The properties of carotenoids are very broad. Particular attention deserves the ability to inhibit the development of cancer. Adding these plants to your diet can ease the spread of prostate cancer.

Cabbage, broccoli, turnip. The antioxidant properties of this family are considered very important in the prevention of many diseases. Cabbage is rich in vitamin C, cysteine and glucosinolates, which protect against cancers, especially breast, stomach, ovaries, prostate and colon. It is also beneficial in the prevention of heart disease and the blood vessels.

Tomatoes. Contains strong anti-cancer substances: lycopene and glutathione.

Fatty fish (mackerel, sardines, tuna, salmon). Fish are rich in omega 3 acids. Consumption of foods or supplements rich in omega 3 fatty acids protects against colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer. It also prevents metastases and relapses of cancer.

Foods rich in zinc. Zinc inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone, whose elevated level is associated with prostate failure. Zinc rich foods: asparagus, borage, figs, potatoes, peanuts, eggplant, cashew nuts, sunflower, onion, beans, lentils, peaches, almonds, radishes, pears, papayas, grains. Animal products rich in zinc: seafood (especially oysters), liver, eggs.

Water. Drinking a lot of water is very important. Increasing water intake can initially worsen the symptoms of the disease. However, in the long run, it is very beneficial.

Food products harmful to the prostate

Food rich in saturated fats. There is a direct link between greasy food of animal origin and prostate cancer. Persons who suffer from prostate inflammation are also advised not to take such products.

Alcohol. It is believed that alcohol can increase the probability of prostate cancer.

Stimulants. The use of artificial or natural stimulants (coffee, chocolate, cocoa, cola) is not recommended for patients with prostate problems.
