Natural treatment of epilepsy

Epilepsy is a disorder in the functioning of the brain, and its symptoms depend on what area of the brain is affected. Epilepsy can be caused by a variety of causes, mainly mechanical brain injuries caused by head injuries, a brain tumor or stroke. There is also idiopathic epilepsy, that is, in which it is impossible to determine the specific cause of the disease.

How to cure epilepsy?

Conventional treatment involves the use of anticonvulsant medications. Anticonvulsants reduce the intensity and frequency of seizures, but in reality they do not cure the disease, but only reduce the symptoms.

For some patients with epilepsy, it is beneficial to use the right diet and dietary supplements. It is worth being interested in products that stabilize blood glucose, perform allergy tests to avoid allergenic foods, and eliminate from the diet substances that provoke epileptic seizures (aspartame, ethanol).

High hopes are associated with a ketone diet (or Atkins diet), which, however, is very restrictive and can cause unwanted side effects. In many severe cases, when the patients did not respond to other treatments, this type of diet turned out to be effective.

The cause of seizures may be deficiency of thiamine, magnesium or vitamin B6. The examination of patients with epilepsy confirmed that during this disease there is a low level of these substances. There is a type of epilepsy – dependent on vitamin B6 – in which epileptic seizures can be eliminated by administering high doses of vitamin B6. There is no reason to conclude that low levels of these substances can cause convulsions in everyone. However, in the case of individual predispositions, such a conclusion is fully justified.

Another positive aspect of the use of dietary supplements is that high doses of certain nutrients may have a positive effect on the action of anticonvulsant drugs. More beneficial than using single components is the use of multivitamins, however, each time you need to consult a doctor.

Natural treatment of epilepsy brings very good results in many patients. However, it should be remembered that the detailed diet and type of supplements to be taken should be tailored to the individual needs of each patient. There are also universal means that can be used regardless of the type of epilepsy. The manufacturer of the LAMININE dietary supplement recommends a dose of 2 to 6 capsules a day, depending on the severity of the disease symptoms.
