Vitamin K2 from natural sources

In order to decide if you have a deficit of vitamin K2 in the body – you should do a simple blood test. If it turns out that the level of vitamin K2 is too low, then it will be necessary to introduce some foods to the daily diet.

Vitamin K2 plays an important role in many processes that are important for the proper functioning of the body. The two most important tasks of this vitamin are the regulation of blood coagulation processes and participation in calcium economy. Modification of specific proteins that have calcium binding capacity is a very important function of vitamin K. Thanks to this process, calcium is directed to those places where the body most needs this mineral, that is, the bones and teeth.

Deficiency of vitamin K2 is the cause of calcium metabolism disorders, and this can cause the deposition of this mineral in the blood vessels and kidneys.

Due to the proper use of calcium supplied with food, vitamin K2 prevents osteoporosis, tooth decay and kidney disease. However, thanks to the maintenance of the circulatory system in health, ie due to preventing the accumulation of calcium deposits in the walls of blood vessels, vitamin K2 is an important factor that promotes kidney health and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Sources of vitamin K2 in food.

Vitamin K2 is easily obtained by eating natural, fermented products: sauerkraut, pickled cucumbers, natto (fermented soya beans), animal liver (for naturally fed animals), yogurts and fatty cheeses. Vitamin K2 belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins. Low fat products contain small amounts of vitamin K2.

Food is the best source of all the nutrients necessary for health. However, long-term systemic diseases can cause too high deficits of vitamins and minerals. In this situation, help may be dietary supplements (eg LAMININE, OMEGA+++, DIGESTIVE+++), which in a short time provide large doses of substances that accelerate the healing process.

People taking anticoagulants should talk to their doctor before using vitamin K2 dietary supplements, because vitamin K2 may interfere with some medications.
