For most women, pregnancy leaves a mark in the form of overweight. Fortunately, with a normal lifestyle, overweight subsides in a relatively short period of time. How quickly you lose weight after the pregnancy depends on several factors.
Within two weeks after delivery, most women lose about 6 kg. This weight can be attributed primarily to the loss of excess fluid in the body, the weight of the child’s body, the placenta and amniotic fluid. Some women may lose a little less, while others may lose a bit more, depending on their individual predispositions. The speed of losing weight depends, among other things, on genetics, general health, diet and exercise.
In the next period, weight loss continues, because the uterus shrinks back to normal size and the hormone levels fall. The body of a woman during pregnancy accumulates in the body at least 4 kg of adipose tissue. This fat is needed to store energy while breastfeeding.
The return to pre-pregnancy weight must take some time. You must be patient. Do not count on the fact that kilograms taken in the period of nine months, we will lose in the blink of an eye. It is real to return to pre-pregnancy weight within a few months of having a baby.
You have to accept the fact that as long as you breastfeed, the minimum overweight is a normal phenomenon. These extra pounds are a reserve that guarantees that you have enough energy to provide valuable milk for your child. There are, however, exceptions to this rule. Some women, despite breastfeeding, very quickly return to their normal weight.
What is certain is that a good nutritional program and moderate physical exercise guarantee the loss of excess weight accumulated during pregnancy within a reasonable time interval. Most women return to their pre-pregnancy weight within nine months of giving birth – on the condition of regular exercise and healthy eating. There are, however, women who get rid of excess weight in just six to twelve weeks after giving birth!
